BRDC British F3 2020 is go! How to follow today's action at Oulton Park
The 2020 BRDC British F3 Championship finally gets underway this weekend at Oulton Park, and today's action sees the first qualifying session and the opening two races of the year.
Qualifying starts at 10.40am UK time, with the two races due off at 14.00 and 17.20, with live timing and updates on each session available by clicking here.
Form guide The opening round of the year is always wide open, but two days of testing this week have made that even more obvious, with the entire field covered by less than 1.3 seconds in yesterday's combined classification. Series returnee Kush Maini was the fastest driver in pre-event testing for championship newcomers Hitech GP. Maini set a best lap of 1m31.833s on Thursday, and was the fastest driver in four of the eight sessions held across the two day test. But he was just a fraction ahead of Carlin's sophomore driver Kaylen Frederick, who has looked equally impressive as he aims to start his second year in style. Frederick's best lap from testing was just 0.016s slower than Maini, suggesting that an intense battle between the pair could be on the cards this weekend. Other drivers to have topped testing sessions so far include Chris Dittmann Racing's Josh Skelton, and Double R Racing's Louis Foster, while Lanan Racing's Bart Horsten has also been a constant presence towards the top of the times. A strong grid of 17 drivers will be in action this weekend, with 10 nationalities represented on the grid. Each will be determined to get their season off to an ideal start, and four races this weekend will give them the perfect chance to do just that.
